How to make Halloween safer for your pup
Halloween can be a real spooky experience for your dog. With all of the costumes, masks, decorations and strangers at your doorstep, there are measures you can take to ensure their safety:
- Ensure your pets steer clear of any Halloween treats. Chocolates and sugary treats can be harmful to our four-legged friends.
- Confirm your pets have proper identification, making it easier to locate them if they happen to escape. This includes a microchip, collar or ID tag.
- Keep Halloween decorations, such as candles, jack-o-lanterns and other adornments out of your pet’s reach.
- If you plan on dressing your pup up for the holiday, make sure their costume fits snugly, lacks loose or chewable components and doesn’t obstruct hearing, breathing or vision.
